I liked the diamond plate. Now coil springs? Just some cool fabrication.

    I like it.

Finished up the mostly brake rebuild but found out the master cylinder is shot and the calipers are jammed up. I have to use a breaker bar to turn the front driver's wheel and the front passenger wheel is kind of eh too. Got a RA order coming in to replace those items.

Made an anti wrap deal this afternoon. Hopefully, it works offroad. It "worked" in the driveway but that's the axle shaft breaker simulation. :D

I took a piece of 2x3x1/4 I had leftover from the frame rebuild and cut and drilled it. Yep, that's a tractor link. Can't get too fancy now can I?

Thanks to ITLKSEZ for the design and technical information.

I flexed it on the floor jack but that's not the same as real world conditions. If this does work I'll add bracing to it. I multipass welded it to the axle tube and the frame mount is plug and butt welded to the frame and the bolt goes through it.

Started replacing the valve stem seals on my Brothers CJ7 today got the driver's side done before I lost motivation and it got too hot. I'll knock out the passenger side next day off.

I got the Land Rover rear strut rods and shocks mounted on the CJ5 frame. I didn't like the mounts that I cut off the Rover donor, so I split a piece of 4" square crop and drilled a 4" x 1/2" plate and tapped it for the rubber strut rod mounts.

I boxed an additional 30" of the frame to have a secure place to mount the 3 link Wishbone. I cut a couple brackets out of 3" square tube. Next I will add additional plate from the inside of the wishbone's 3/4" mounting bolt to the frame and box and gusset them.

Finished up the hand throttle connections. A light fixture sacrificed it's chain. Made a barrel that both chain and cable would pass through. Drilled and tapped for an 8-32 screw. Doesn't interefere with the throttle arm at full throttle and yields about 3/4 throttle when used.
Pretty much dawdling around here now. Waiting on July 30 to get on the road to Leadville...

Tested out the anti wrap device this afternoon. It seems to have worked. :bananatool: I stopped by the TSC to return some unused parts and I had a couple of people take pictures of the 3b and talk to me about it. One of them was local PD. :ninja:

I took a piece of 3/8" plate and made a couple "braces". I sure hope they work. It's very tight in there. Hope I don't need to remove my shocks anytime soon. They might not unbolt.:lol: I figure if (when) the tractor link bends, I'll build a stronger link using some pipe or maybe even DOM with heims.

I tried to video this afternoon's testing, a camera mount is in the future. I tried to do stuff that would normally throw the driveshaft. If I had both hands I could've done more spirited driving. :sneak:

I usually try to post a pic when I post, but I didn't do anything pic worthy.... but I walked down to the Jeep and grabbed a bag of coffee that was in the camping stuff as we were out in the house. Then while I was down there I unstrapped the AMC M20 axle and rolled it off the trailer.
My leg said that was enough, so I went back inside. But hey, as least I'm starting to get mobile.

Now to find an ice pack, the IB and have the wife make a cup of coffee :coffee: :madwife:

I finished the back of the frame today with the Land Rover Disc Brake, Coil Spring Axle installed, welded and bolted in.
Once I finish with the front axle, I will strip it down and flip it over to finish the welding on the bottom. Everything underneath is either spot welded or stitched.
