sounds like its the link between the ross box and the little pivot on the crossmember that is if its ross steering , and if its converted saginaw...
i think the other one might be a cut down drip rail unless im seing hles in both edges
im doin the same thing now the 2a is a little bit shorter than the m38 or cj5 the rear crossmember hangs out a bit and the front is about 4 inches...

the white wire either goes to the back of the gauges as every one says the only time it is used for the alt is on the 10si as an exciter the same...
