Upper ball joint and c-clip

    Scratching my head on this one. This pic is the old ball joint back in. I took out the new one because I thought I was having a problem. Seems as though the old was/is doing the same thing. Not enough groove for the c-clip. But I did remove one. The box with the new set (upper/lower) joints only had one c-clip in it. What am I missing here?

    The other side didn't seem to have this problem. Going to attempt to put new one in again.

    Yup, some applications use them, some don't. The casting/machining of the knuckles are different. Typically replacement ball joints are machined for circlips to fit as many applications as possible.
