I believe he is refering to the OEM 2.5 is the WIDTH of the spring and NOT the lift.
You will have to press apart the 2 piece axle to get the backing plate off. Thats the FUN part...

With a locker in the front when you arent under a torque situation the locker will UNlock and lets the vehicle turn, and if you have twin sticks...
