Im helping a friend with a 79 CJ 5 he got. The clutch needed an adjustment because it wouldnt release all the way. It has a T18 with a 258. its kinda hacked together so I tried to make the adj rod a little longer to get the adjustment. Now the peddle barely moves at all.
So we pulled the trans and the disc is new and pressure plate has wear on the fingers that the throghout bearing pushes on. The idiot didnt have the alignment dowels in the bellhousing which messed up some stuff.

MY ?? is that with the new bearing on the fork (with trans on the floor) there is only about 1" of throw and the fork hits the bellhousing. Is it possible they have the wrong fork????

I could clearence the fork if necessary. The wear pattern looks like it should travel at least a 1/4 inch more..

Any ideas, I would hate to have to pull this back out again and want to do this right the first time, THANKS
