I am planning on taking my 73 cj7 to colorado this summer to wheel the mountains and i have a sexy set of 35x14.50 boggers with 85% left on em, they sit at 32in tall with 15psi in them, i wanna know if my stock axles will handle them under moderate conditions??? if not my other option is 33x12.50 worn out mud tires... thanks for lookn

Uhhh, no such thing as a '73 CJ-7. They didn't come out until '76. We need clarification as to which it is to give advice as the rear axles were different between the two.

Dude...are you sure you wanted a jeep? Just wondering after calling it a heep, and talking about the junk on it? Seems you have a very low opinion of Jeeps.

Anyway...I'm sure that if you do a search for tire size you'll get some hits that will help. Personally, I think 35's, deflated or not, are too big for a stock vehicle configuration.

    I'll get you started...

Good luck. I'm sure wheeling in Colorado should be a lot of fun.

Im on 35s with lockers, d30 in front and 20 in the rear. I use it for mostly off road. The 30 you have to wheel it smart to keep one together. No bouncing and No happy peddle when you have the wheels turned. if you drive it like you stole it you will break it IMO....

If that Jeep is rolling stock diffs and drivetrain you should have a D44 rear and a D30 front. Dana 20 transfer and with a six it most likely has a T14 three speed.
A lot of us run Jeeps of your same erra. I personaly run a 74 with a ford 4 speed and stock diffs with spooled carriers. I do a lot of rough trail running with my jeep and that is primarily its usage. You can get a lot of good usage from these difs and they do handle a lot if you know your limitations and try not to intentionally bust something. I say stay away from the skinny pedal and lot her just crawl were you want. Driving the Jeep will be nothing like driving the Chev. I would recommend a good fix on that frame. Frame brakes are nothing to take lightly IMO. I also would recommend getting a cage on that thing.
    Good luck and welcome
