Rotors and spindle assembly installed tonight. Warn hubs are being cleaned up and getting a new coat of paint tomorrow. Tires dismounted and wheels being dropped of sometime next week for blasting and powder coating.

I cleaned the hubs using gasoline and a brush, rinsed, wiped, rinsed again using mineral spirits, then greased it all up again. I forgot to take before pictures of the hubs before I stripped and painted them. They didn't turn out too bad, a bit more flat than stock but still looks better than "paint-chipped-faded-rust" color. I hit it with a couple coats of clear coat so hopefully the color will last. Brake pads and hardware on order so I'm done for weekend.

That looks awesome dude! I pick my front axle up this week and save to send the frame out to fit the new axle. :) It's good to see yours coming together man! I am about $600 - $700 away from my next milestone.... Time to save ;)

I dropped the wheels off today to be sandblasted and powder coated, should have them back in about two weeks. Still waiting on some miscellaneous brake parts which should be here tomorrow morning. Brake calipers and brackets painted.

Thanks guys, I can't wait to get my wheels and tires back. Next few weeks I should have a "roller" and can start working on the engine, transmission and transfer case. I cleaned up the brake caliper bolts and finished installing the front brakes. FYI, toilet bowl cleaner works wonders for cleaning up rusty bolts. I use a product called "The Works!", only takes a few minutes of soaking.

I picked up my freshly painted wheels today and mounted the front tires. I'm still waiting on a hub puller so I can rebuild the AMC-20 rear and get it bolted up.

Started to install my new u-bolts I ordered from a certain retailer. I get to the last u-bolt for the Dana 30 that fits over the housing to find out the package was missing nuts and washers. mehh

Did you use greasable shackles? I am making my own and haven't decided on greasable or regular. The CJ width shackles I had were greasable but now with the YJ springs.... idk yet.

My CJ will spend a majority of the time on the road, and isn't lifted so I opted for the stock shackles. Since yours is going to be in the mud, elements, and offroad I'd suggest the greasable ones. I've got greasable shackles on my XJ which makes it really easy to service, at least when I can get the dang grease gun fitting in there. Stupid zerk fitting is in the worst possible location. Need to get around to swapping it out with a 90 degree zerk.

Get around to it and I will take the old ones off your hands for some cash your way. :p I think the springs are the same size as my aftermarket ones.

A friend came over tonight and helped me clean up the rear axle and put a fresh coat of paint on it.

I cleaned up the insides of the axle, got all the old nasty oil and grime out. Still waiting on my axle seals, should be here Monday. This gave me time to work on my 3rd project I just picked up for $500. Actually, part of the agreement with the wife was I didn't turn it into a project. :D Needs some minor work, new tires, belts, plugs, wires, new vacuum lines, etc...Essentially a good tuneup.

Axle shafts re-installed, new bearings and seals. Cleaning up the backing plates and picked up new brake hardware. I'll have everything reinstalled tonight except for the brake drums.

All buttoned up and topped off with fresh gear oil. I have to wait overnight for the paint on my hubs to dry.
