I think the other post went threw but forgot to add something:

The thing on the bumper is a fire siren it's loud and fun but I never turn it on.

As for winch I got to fill all that real estate on the front bumper. It has solid plate there which is perfect for a warn or smitty built winch. :)
Speaking of bumpers I got to make a rear tire carrier and bumper.

So it appears you have a CJ5A. Are you going to put the badges back on the hood?

    yes I do,
I have been looking for the Tuxedo Parks badges for the hood but no luck, I'm missing most of the things to distinguish it from the normal cj5

thanks piffey, that would be really cool... im looking forward to teaching myself some body work/paint... i have books and i can go to my wifes job and ask around as well...

what do you mean by 'not to do cabinets'?... like kitchen cabinets?

most of todays body techs are panel pullers instead of panel pounders... so i think its fun to cut and weld and sand and all that stuff... takes longer, but i think the reward is worth the effort

Its, amazing what one can learn by books alone, even more when you can see someone doing body work,
yes kitchen cabinets, you spray the insides and then outsides and for some reason that lacquer loves to run...

I prefer making panels and or fixing them, its relaxing like grinding down you welds with a file or dremel (for the big welds) instead a grinder.
More control. Reward is definitely worth it :)

as soon as you get that mirror installed!!

and i agree, theres something about the smell and the sound and all the sparks and stuff that i find ridiculously relaxing...

i think i ll skip the painting since im not set up for it... but maybe i ll airbrush something on the dash...

good on ya for getting those tags my friend

you can always go for that new rust patina look, just sand and put clear on.. you will decide what is best, don't over complicate.
And yes I can drive but............

I'm still waiting for the glass shop, the glass was supposed to be cut Wednesday...

Since, I can't drive my jeep home, I took the opportunity to take another test drives and install mirrors, sticker, bellcrank repair kit, and took some pictures of the bed-liner that I put under my hood previously

Mirror sorry its not chrome didn't have enough money, when I get the money I will give this mirror to dad for his YJ
    [IMG]

I like the look of bed liner underneath the hood and on firewall makes things quieter
    [IMG]

This bell crank gave me so much trouble, I didn't know how to take off drag ling, and tie rod was stuck I guess that why people buy tie rod pullers.

When I went to go to the glass shop they installed the glass for me for a extra $10 which I thought was really cool. I wasn't looking forward to putting in the glass.

    Total came to 164$

I had my dad follow me home and it took some getting used driving the jeep, but fun and eventful without problems :)
Its about a 10 min drive on the highway but I took the back roads so about a 20 min drive. My top speed was 50 (I broke speedo cable so my dad had to tell me)
after the jeep sat for about 20 min would not start the rest of the day.... I decided to call my uncle who happens to be a mechanic and told me to check the points.
I ended up running to kragen O'Reilly's for a nice feeler gauge and adjusted the points and it seemed to drive around town good. However, I ordered a new roter, cap and condenser just so I don't get stuck anywhere. I get them Tuesday :) in the mean time I don't think i'm going to turn the jeep off just in case.

I will try again for a picture but photobucket says no right now

    Got some pictures to share...

Took my dad's bikini top from is 95 YJ he uses his top durring his weather, fits nicely :)

Picked up cap (which I have to return) its clocked wrong... :(I pick it up at three today
rotor and condenser went on nicely, and now I have to find a step bit because I picked up a ciggerette lighter at O'Reilly's
(I don't smoke but want something to charge my phone with)

My working conditions today are rather nice
    [IMG]
New condensor put on and adjusted to factory specs with a feeler guage, don't have a dwell meter going to have to find someone who has one..

The two kitties approved of the jeep, I don't care as long as they don't pee on it..

Still got little things here and there that I can do on jeep, like touch up shifter/steering column.

Glass makes all the difference, looks like its ready to roll.

If you need the correct part number, I believe The Standard parts number for the Delco distributor cap is DR-442. NAPA can cross it over to whatever brand they have. That won't work for the prestolite, I am not sure of that part number.

Homerdog: your right glass sure does, so will the wipers when I get them :)
and thanks for the part number I will wright that down for future reference.

    TexasBlues: thank you

Its slightly sunny time for another test drive after I fix passenger seat... (the opening is to big so the jeep likes to try and throw the passengers out the window)

Got a Minor update: for a good week I was trying to figure out why the jeep wouldn't start. Anyways when I replaced the points they were a different brand and apparently that matters lol I was getting no spark and it was driving me up the wall. After taking the multi-meter to everything I tried switching the old points and it started up... tuned it with a feeler gauge and a vacuum gauge. Now it runs great no more not starting when its hot... so I think my coil was on its way out. Kinda glad it happened because I got new plug wires, distributor cap, and plastic thingy that i forgot the name of at the moment... that is under the distributor cap.

While doing this I replaced the Alternator bracket and put a extra washer so I wouldn't break the bracket again... learned my lesson not to tighten things I have a bad feeling about.

after all this happened I went to drive out of driveway and I ran over a chunk of metal and got a flat tire. fun stuff, put two plugs in it and when I get the money I will take it to a tire shop. Otherwise, the Jeep runs great. I looked up the speeds and rpm's and realizing I got to stay in first gear longer, or check the compression on the engine. Something is off.. with the power.

I will get another picture of engine with the new wires, bracket, and other goodies.

Just make sure you fuse the line on your cig lighter. :stout:

Looks like you have one with a light up ring?
I had to chuck my original cig lighter (had rusted out), replaced it with one with the light up ring so I could find it in the dark! :D

I've had tons of cig lighter powered items blow fuses from the draw, so I fused mine. After all, you don't want electrical fires!
Trust me, the light up is nice. :stout: I wired mine to be hot (powered), even when the Jeep is off, and lighted when I turn the headlights on.
    Been perfect for me.
