Ok after couple week of riding it, all is positivem jeep drive nice as ever, off-road is awesome very comfortable and the added wheelbase make some difference.

Now after some alternator issu i'm getting some with my steering once again.

Now it's time for ram assist.

First step find the cylinder, called some local hydrolic shop, they have only cylinder with bushing mounted so i'll go with a psc 8" x 1.5" 5/8 rod with rod end like this one.

I will drill and tap my existing box (scout 2 box)
    Here's pic i found on pirate 4x4
    [IMG]

New pump is on the way from napa and i'll make custom lenght hose.

Pic to come this week-end if i got everything for the job.

I will be curious about how you like the ram assist. I've thought about doing that too.

For the moment having the tire down to 7 psi it demand no effort from me to turn the wheel.
Cant wait to give it a try

Little come back on the last mod i made.
It's day and night now if you compare it to oem set-up. On the road i get a good road feeling. It's way better than oem, because when i got brand new pump by the past, steering was too smouth, so it was difficult to handle it. With ram assist i got just the right amount of resistance on the steering, improving the handling.

But the big difference is on the trail.
On rock/mud with tire down to 6-7 psi turning the wheel demand no effort. There's almost no-more kick on the steering wheel so i'm not hurting my arm and hand anymore

I may have lose some speed on the steering wheel but you will if you try to turn it as fast as a road runner would.

On final, this mod worth the time and money, The big part of it is to drill and tap the steering box. I did it whitout dissembling the whole thing but you need to be careful about metal particles when drilling and tap.

Here's the cost for the ram assist:

    Psc ram 8" x 1.5": 260$
    Cooler: 80$
    Filter: 40$
    Hoze fiting: 40$
    Total cost: 420$

I have a buddy who did Ram/Hydro assist on his TJ. He said the same things, barely any difference on the road but on trails with big rocks, HUGE difference.

Looks like a beefy setup that's for sure

Hum so my 2013 off-roading is end so time to do a little rewiew of the year and new project to come for the jeep.

-new costum frame do the job, jeep handling on/off-road is way more better than before.

-Coil spring suspension is a little lower and différence is huge between now and last year.

-Ram assist, worth the time and money, easy turn on every surface, a mod i hardly suggest for those running big tire.

So for now i decided to take a break for winter.

here's are the project for next spring.

-Full corner guard with built metal flare for the rear and i keep the all terran flare for the front.

    -4 wheel bedlock
Thank's for those who follow my built and for the 20k view since my project started.

Spring is knocking at the door so time to start with the 2014 modification.

    - new heater, bought a summit racing vintage heater with heat control, three speed motor and heat/defrost mod control.

Next i'm doing a little repair on my windsheild frame, the wiper bind the metal sheet and lock . So i cut and weld a 1/16" metal plate. Just got it re paint.

So next are the rear corner . I'll will make a plate around the corner that will finish at door opening and i'll fab some metal round flare (i hate the shape of Yj/TJ flare) . I'll also had those light so i wont destroy them againts tree. The red one are for sode marker.

What brand of beadlock did you buy? They have been on my list for the last two years, but other things keep coming up that gobble up the funds.
