So the T18 from the factory uses a set of 1" spacers between the skid plate and the frame. I am setting up mine and I'm not sure I need the spacers. I'd have to make them but that would not be an issue.

But I'd rather not have the skid plane hanging down if I did not have too. And I'll be using a 'glass tub so I can notch the tranny hole a bit if I need to because the t18 sticks up in the tub a bit. So far, no issue.

But how will not using the spacer effect the tilt of the motor? Will it cause issues in the driveline? Any of you guys use a T18 without a spacer and it work fine?

I'm assuming it will but I'd like to find someone that has already made it work.

    Thanks........

Driveline/u-joint angles are going to be the determining factor here. Spring lift/sag, pinion tilt up or down, etc. all have an effect here. Measure what you have then determine what you need.

After doing a lot of research last night, I've about decided to make the spacers and drop it. IT seems if you raise the T18 tranny by not using the spacers, the tilt of the motor causes other issues. Basically if you dont' use the spacers, it raises the tranny and you have to raise the motor the 1" as well.

And most people that did not use the spacers had to cut up their skid pan so the driveshaft and parts of the tranny fit like it should.

Course then again, I can always add a spacer with little trouble later......
