I'm wondering about whether or not questions or info regarding dealer installed, or period correct aftermarket accessories would be appropriate in this forum.

Since jeep tended to use "aftermarket" parts that were "Jeep approved" as dealer installed options, would you guys consider that fair game here?

    (Kayline,Whitco,Husky,Bestop,Warn,Meyer,Selectro,etc.?)

Sure, I don't see why not. I'd think you could discuss anything here that was "period correct."

Certainly not all aftermarket products were designated as "JEEP APPROVED SPECIAL EQUIPMENT".
    Example:
Warn hubs and early designed Dualmatic made the grade but no others to my knowledge.

Kaiser had a special manager to designate the chosen products.
The special equipment manager for several years during the sixties was R. O Morgan.

Well, I, for one, don't think.............blah blah blah. Hehe. Yea. I think that would be fine. Don't know where else you'd go with it, really. Get the nod from the mods and we're go to go.

Good stuff. I really like that old literature. Good pictures and illustrations. You find out all kinds of interesting things, like I never knew that my Whitco top had "Diaelectrically sealed windows" So space age and scientific.
