I know this might sound a little dumb but can you explain the process step by step for getting to my drivetrain parking brake shoes and will I need to replace any parts by getting there. I have a 67 CJ6A and not for very long now.

    First off, welcome!
I'd highly recommend getting a factory style service manual. That info is included in the manual. Asking questions when one is confused or dont understand something is certainly what we try to help with. Asking for step by step instructions is another matter altogether. You might do a search for "Rick Stiver's guide to rebuilding the Dana 18" or similar as he has a writeup on rebuilding the 18 transfer case that would be helpful.

With the location of the headers on this thing, do you have any suggestions on where to get some side steps that may cover up the pipes.
