So there is a constant gas smell associated with my jeep (73cj5). It was also present with my 74 cj5. There are no pools of gas under the vehicle, I have looked the vehicle over extensively and there is no leaking of fuel.

The intensity of the smell can very, some days there is no smell and others the smell can fill the entire garage to where I cant open the door to the house or the house smells like fuel. It is not associated with the level of fuel in the tank, the smell can come and go regardless of how full the tank is.

Is this a serious problem? What could be the cause? Is it a seal on the fuel filler tube and tank? And the final question is this just a jeep thing lolzbunny with a pancake

Check the vent hoses for the fuel tank and check for cracks in the fuel filler hose. If equipped check the carbon canister for saturation
