I know I've seen discussion on this carb. here somewhere but I can't seem to find it now. Is it a workable combination or poor throttle response?

I am running an Offy intake and comp. 252 cam.

I think it will work. Running a 450 cfm on my 225 and the only real problem is it is pretty sensitive to big elevation changes (4 to 5k feet). With Holleys, you have enough selection on power valves, diaphram springs, accelerator pump cams, and jets to tweak them about anyway you want. If it bogs on the secondaries, just change out the diaphram spring to delay the opening a bit.

I think Patrick is/was running one as well. Might ask either one of 'em. A properly tuned 470 should work fine though.

What is the CFM rating on Patrick's Edlebrock?

To keep it close to the thread topic, is it close to the CFM of a 470 TA?

Yup - the TA470 works fine on the 225, at least it did for me and Clint. I know a couple folks gave up on it, but I found it to be the best until I went to FI. I have run Holley 390s and tried the Edelbrock 500s. I prefered the Edlebrock 500, but could not get the 2 I tried to tune and then went 390s till the TA470s came out.

The key is to tune with a Vac gauge, both idle and running operations. It lets you know where things are when they kick in and makes work with the Holley much easier.

mpc is running a TA 470 in his 231 odd-fire and he likes it. It ran great right out of the box. It seems to work equally well at sea level and at 7,000 ft with no fuss.
