bows on a 69 cj 5??????????

:?i bought a top and bows today and with the bows up i can snap one side but the other side is like 3 in from snaping and the bow are weird so i need to know if u can measure the bow and figuare out wat yr they came on ? and also can i get some pic of the top up and see what it looks like ? thanks for your help.

yes its installed right but the bows where the mounts to to windshield my bows are flat and the mounts brackets are circle so that wont work

Uh, the bows don't mount to the windshield. They mount to the top of the tub with a bracket. There are rods that go forward from the bow to the windshield but they are small tube or on older models small diameter steel rods. Got a pic you can show us?

 

the rods are flatened out so the hardware i got with the jeep wont work or i gota modify it . i think these bows might be the wrong bows is there a certain bows for the early cj vs the older cj ? ill send some pics when i get off tomarrow? im working a 24 at the fd

The bows are specific to the era of CJ but also to the manufacturer and model of soft top as well.

I'm not sure what you mean by early CJ vs. older CJ as Early CJ's are the oldest ones when talking round fendered Jeeps, i.e. CJ-5, CJ-6, M38a1, etc. The only thing older are Flatfendered Jeeps when talking universals. Early CJ-s are considered '55-'71, Intermediates are considered '72-'75, and late are considered '76-'86.
