Ok straight to it. Where can I find parts info on this motor (GM) need oil pan and exhuast manifold, what years will swap? need dash plate, dvr. seat bracket and misc. I wanted to reuse the motor as it is still a long block with most other parts there, but a box or two might have been lost

    azdrtdog,

Welcome from AZ also! A couple of things that might help you...

    1) check out the trop of trhe Intermediate CJ5 and CJ6 Tech forum, there is a great sticky on where to find parts....tremendously helpful....especially some of the salvage yards listed that can save you some serious $$$$!!!

    2) make sure you fill out your profile info so everyone here can see what equipment you have and can help you.

What engine do you have? Sounds like you have a great project! Do you have any pics you can post?

    Best of luck!

If it's a 1980 4-banger in a CJ, then it's the GM/Pontiac 151 cid (2.5L) 'Iron Duke' engine. These engines were used in a lot of passenger cars and light trucks (ie the S-10). You should be able to find them in your local wrecking yards. Here's a list of the apps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Iron_Duke_engine I expect the engine parts will be the same for all apps, but I have no way to check that. You may be able to find a complete car with an engine - often that's the cheapest way to get the engine you need. Buying lots of bits and pieces can get very expensive.

For the rest of your missing parts, your location matters.
