Do I need to change out my m/c booster?

I have drum all the way around now. Upgrading my axle's to 44s. Front disc are going in (GM). Do I need to upgrade my m/c booster as well? To what?

 

What year CJ? Factory power assist? I don't believe that CJ's ever came from the factory with boosted drum brakes, but I could be wrong.
I believe all you will need to do is remove the residual check valve from the master cylinder outlet port going to the front brakes. The residual check valve holds about 5 psi in the lines to keep the drum brake wheel cylinder cups seated. If left in place with disk brakes, it can cause the brakes to drag with the pedal released.
If you already have a brake booster, I would not see any reason to change it out.
My '79 has factory front disk brakes without a booster, and I have no problems stopping 33" tires.

 

Front disc/ rear drum jeeps use a different mastercylinder. Yes pulling the check valve will work but your brake bias and line pressures will be wrong. You need a balenced system, a master cylinder off a Power brake equiped cj would be best along with an adjustable proportioning valve. I am running a waggie booster and mastercylinder along with an adustible prop valve. Braking performce is on par with a modern car.

Alright, miss-understood thought you had a power brake booster. A master cylinder off a manual disc brake cj will work, along with a proportioning valve for the same.
