This afternoon I installed Herm's Tie rod kit on my 1970 cj5. PO had already converted the steering to a manual saginaw setup. The double eye tie rod end that is connected to the steering knuckle on the passenger side would not take grease. I removed the grease fitting and by itself grease shot through the fitting it just fine. I put the grease fitting back on and again the tie rod end would not take any grease. I then replaced the grease fitting with a new one and the tie rod end still will not take grease.

Any suggestions before I call Herm.

Sounds like the tie rod end was not machined all the way through for the grease passage. Ran into that a couple of months ago on a brand new ball joint.

Herm sent another one and it won't take grease either. Herms a good guy so I didn't bother to ask for a third one. Tried to cross the part number at my local FLAPs but no luck. It became a back burner item for now. I thought about posting the part number here and seeing if someone could cross it to another manufacturer.

Had a local guy tell me it would take grease after I used it for awhile. I don't think so. Some stuff from China just don't work right.
