Been working on getting stuck spring bushing out of the frame hangers on my 1970 cj5. I did a search here and got some good tips on how to go about it.

Thinking of replacing the steel/rubber type bushing with a poly bushing. Do the poly bushings come with a inner steel inner and a outer steel liner. Or no steel liners at all. The photos on most webs sites a lousy or don't exist. Can you describ what you purchased and where.

Next is there a supplier who sells ploy spring bushing that provides demensions of the bushing. I ask because I have found many of the parts on this jeep are from many different years. I have no idea if the springs are original equipment of not. So ordering for a 1970 cj will not always work. In fact it almost never works.

The Energy Suspension bushings which are the Polyurethane's have no steel shell on the outside. You lube them with some silicone grease like SilGlide and push them in. There is a steel sleeve that goes in the middle to act as a wear part for the bolt to go through. I'd still lube them with Silglide or other silicone type lubricant. Some aftermarket spring manufacturers make their springs to use a different bushing but imh opinion any honest or reputable manufacturer should use a stock dimensioned bushing whether it be the metal shelled rubber bushing or allow for the aftermarket polyurethane bushings.
