been thinking about this for some time, and have done a little reaserch here and on the net. just how much improvment you think it would give a old F head? bottom end my old f134 has plenty of torque, its just the higher speeds and hills that it will struggle. thinking the f134 is = to a 2.2L, and some of the chrystler K cars had a turbo 2.2L so that would be about the right size if i can score one from the junkyard. just thinking out loud for the moment, i know i would have to fab up some kind of header for the turbo to mount to. and some plumbing for the discharge. think its even worth trying?

I would think a turbo would wake the f head up. it has a long stroke lower rpm range like a diesel

Thats why I sometimes wonder if a turbo off a small TDI motor or any other VW diesel would be a good idea.

Yep it reminds me of a ford tractor with a 3 cylinder diesel.

Oh, Yes that was good. I really liked the second one where he was driving it and you can hear that turbo whistle.

I looked into turbo for my cj6 to get that little bit of more power i needed for big tires and rocks. I came to the conclusion that turbos didn't put the power where I wanted it, from 1000-5000 rpm. However, I did decide that a roots type blower does add a bunch of torque right off idle and all the way up to 5000rpm. so i went ahead and installed an Eaton M90 supercharger on my 232. It came off a 90's ford thunderbird super coupe and gives me more than enough power to get myself in trouble.

dang!! looks like there are alot of them out there still yet. I searched for a 1986 lebaron 2.2 turbo, and they can be had anywhere from $40 to $300. found one less than 50 miles away for around $100. i may just have to try this idea out, my F head only has 25 miles since rebuild if that. didnt get to watch the video's (dial up) but from what you guys are saying that watched it. it sounds like you were impressed:)

well it took me 20 minutes to load it, and no sound mehh not 100% sure i would go a turbo that size, it looked pretty big to me. and i would have defenitly had a air filter on there:shock: not sure you would need the cooler either. maby on a larger engine....

Kinda what I was thinking the smaller turbo would spool up faster and more in the rpm range of our f heads. I LOVE the sound of it though.
