Im buying a new supertop for my CJ5, but I have no latches. I can only find 76+ latches. Can anyone gimme direction to go for door strikers? cj7 stikers wont fit my 72?

    nickmil In mothballs.

If you buy the soft top kit it comes with all the hardware including strikers. They were not built into 5's, just 7's and Wranglers.

72s had no strikers. Most used a ball-valve type handle that captured the upright on the soft top frame inside, just behind the door opening. Later Bestop came out with a striker that mounts to the top edge of the tub, just behind the door opening (the upright fits into the same bracket.) That's the type that came with the Tigertop for the '71, ~15 yrs ago. I would imagine a latch assembly should be part of a Supertop package if you're buying the entire top new.

This pic shows the striker for the soft doors mounted at the top of the "hump"

Close up shows the striker with reinforcement I had to add because the glass tub cracked:

Blurry pic but it shows the later-style paddle-handle that goes with the striker I pictured.

You should inquire about handles, strikers, etc before you buy. I think some Supertop instructions are available on the web from Bestop, that should show what you need. Good luck

The strikers for my supertop look just like the ones pictured above, and they came with the top.
