I am building a 67 CJ5 and doing the steering conversion. I am building my own column using the tube out of the old ross box and making my own shaft and topping it with a Cherokee wheel. Problem is I don't know the distance from the bottom of the wheel to the tube clamp. Some body with a original set up if you could make a measurement I'd appreciate it. How come you can't post pictures in these threads? Pic worth a lot of words as they say. Other forum sites I go on we do. Would be helpful.

I don't have the measurement but since we got hacked a while back the attachments function has been disabled. You can post pics, just host them on Photobucket (free) or something similar and simply link them here and they will show up.

13 1/4" from the bottom of the wheel to the mounting holes on the dash-28 1/4" from the bottom of the wheel to the floorboard. This is on a 70 CJ5 with stock steering. However, the column tube goes up into the wheel a little bit, so these would be a little longer if measured without the steeering wheel in place.

Thanks, no seat or floor and trying to put the steering wheel in a comfortable spot.
