I removed my d18 for rebuild, the big bearing stayed on the trans output shaft. Is that right or is it supposed to stay in the front of the transfer case?
It does not want to slid off, I tried.
    Thanks, Larry

be glad it stayed put! if not the input shaft could have seperated at the fromt of the cluster and the bearing needles would have come out. it will slide off, but be prepared. if you are not planning to remove the transmission and take it apart, be carefull fooling around with that bearing, keep inward pressure on the shaft untill its back together

:iagree: I'd take a piece of wire, zip ties, or something similar and tie the transmission output into place until you are ready to put the transfer case back on. It'll make sure the output doesn't slide back on you.
