1967-69 cj-5

    I have three cj-5/s 2-1967and 1 -1968
    they all have the full hood with no cutout on the passengers side.
    According to the pics I have they should all have the cutout.
    My only reference(and I do not know why but most pics are from the drivers side) Are the tuxedo park pics..
    Would the vehicle shop manual be a good start for body parts//?

    snorkel cutout ended after '64 I believe.

    I have a 67 (probably a late 66) and it came with no cutout on the hood. I managed to smash it up a little in 69 and bought a new hood from the Jeep dealer. It did have the cutout. Mine was a Tuxedo, but there aren't many of the Tuxedo goodies left.

    OK not to rock the boat but my 1966 cj6 came stock with the cut out.....I'm positive it was stock

    That's interesting that the replacement hood had the cutout. Obviously had been in stock for a while.

    may have been cheeper to stock one hood that would fit either application:)

    My 1969 CJ5 doesnt have the cut out, but there is a bracket shaped like the cutout on the inside of the hood

    My 66 Tux has the cut-out and I believe it to be original.

    That's what they are referring to. My '67 parts Jeep, '68, and the Daughter's
    '70 do not have the cutout.
    I'd have to look at the all original '57 to see which is in storage.

    I moved the Jeep outside in the sun and see that the hood must be a replacement. The green on the hood is close to the green on the body but not the same. Sorry for the incorrect information.
