hey i am thinking about getting some new rims. prolly some 15x8's. just trying to decide on the backspacing. ill prolly be running 32's or 33's. also have a superlift spring lift. not sure what size.... now i am going out to the sand dunes and want a little wider stance. i dont want it to look rediculous and have the wheels way out there. but i do want to be a little wider. so i was wondering if anyone had any pictures of there say 2.5" 3" 3.5" backspaced wheels...

    thanks, Matt

this is what im currently running. [IMG]

An additonal 2.5" backspacing will give you about the same width as widetrack axles. About half of the tire will be outside of the sheetmetal.

Just some info, "standard" backspacing on most 8" wide wheels for Jeeps are 3 3/4" and "standard" backspacing on most 10" wide wheels for Jeeps are 4".

I had 3.5 backspacing with 33s and they rubbed a little when wheeling hard so I put 1.25" spacers and it gave a BETTER stance and is probably what you are looking for. A 2.5" backspace will be hard to find.

Those are pretty cheap. Spacers will run you $200, so the wheels are the way to go.

    Heres mine with 33s and 3.5 B.S.

see thats like the way my wheels are now... just kinda tuck in the fenders. the jeep looks great by the way. just thinkin it would do better with a little wider stance.

Spacers or widetrack axles are the best options for a wider stance. Widetrack axles being the prefered method.

80-86 CJ-7/scrambler. The front is a direct bolt in swap. ther rear will require new spring perches.

I have 3.75" backspacing on a 15x10 rim, with 33x13.50 tires, and I run 1.25" wheel spacers at all four corners, so essentially its the same as 2.5" backspacing, but the wheels are wider than yours, and the tires are fatter. I don't have any pics or I'd post them up. If you would like, I can get pictures tomorrow, though, and post them to show you what they look like. The fronts stick out quite a ways, but I like it. Let me know.
