Both look good when comapired to each other.

Both seem to be fairly well set up. I"d have to see them both to make a decision.

But $5000 seems a little steep for either jeep. I would expect either to be down in the 2-3K range. But that is from Florida so maybe in the NW they are worth much more......

I'd bet both tubs have rust on them as well. Check the frames real good for cracks and rust.

From the ads it's hard to say without seeing them. At least the second ad the person seems to know what they have and what's there. The first ad says 4 speed, What kind? stock, non stock, what? Also says it has Dynaloc lockers. Not saying there isn't such a thing but I've been doing axles for many years and haven't heard of them....

    Lots of questions there.

If the second one is rust free then it is probably well worth the asking price in the PNW.

Prices seem to be higher in this area, especially in the Seattle area.

Let us know what you find or decide to to....

sweet jeep. that is a perfect gas-n-go offroader! $4900 is a more than fair price for that jeep. We need more pics!!!

Just out of curiousity, can we get a pic of the rear driveshaft. A TH400/d20 combo on a flatty can leave much room.

    Looks like a good score!
Like Dante said, we'd like to see more pics... including the rear drive shaft set up.
(Dante, as I recall... Miss Behavin, Tumbleweed's old flatty, also ran a TH400 and worked extremely well. I don't recall if that rig ran a CV shaft/rotated rear... I'm assuming it did.)

Be sure to put your next pics/descriptions in the appropriate forum, since we're no longer talking about an Intermediate :)

Please let me know how it all looks, I am aware of the little tranny leak at spedo connect, tightened it and still leaks.
Like I said the auto shifts smooth, a little jerky when shifting into D from P but is ok.

With the Jimmy column the wheel sits so low in my lap i need to put my foot beside the gas and curve my toe inward to get the pedal down "comfortably". I think a aftermarket wheel with some depth is in order...
Needless to say im in love its a different kind with this rig compared to my last...

Way cool jeep! That rear driveshaft is real short. I'd get that tranny leak fixed. It looks like it's leaking fairly good. Most jeeps leak a drop or two here and there. But that looks to be mroe than a drop or two.

That steering column seems to have a tilt. If so, get a smaller diameter wheel with a deeper "dish" and it should be OK. Does it have PS?

Looks like a good buy. IS there any chance that is a fiberglass tub or dash?

    This is not fiberglass.
Shes solid no rattles at all.
The guy who sold me her said to come back and well fix the leak and check the faulty fuel sender.

    defiantly stoked.
Glad i did not go with the rusty cj5.

so is there people on this forum with older flat fender jeeps?
Do i need to move on to the cj-3a forums....they are alot less active.
anyone know of a good forum for these willys?

That is VERY clean, nice jeep. I agree that is a substantial leak that needs attention soon.

Didn't see the back seat before. I think I'd change the cage or take out the back seat. There is no protection back there.

Glad you are getting the leak fixed. While you are there, see if you can get some more history on it. It's so clean and fresh and nice and new that either ti's been rebuilt or locked in someone's garage for most of it's life.

The reason your trhead has been moved are ound is you first posted a CJ5 question in the flat fender sention, then you posted a flat fender in the CJ5 section. No worries. Just get in the early cj section and you will be golden.

FWIW, I'm real jealous. Most of us here are trying to build our jeeps to be as nice as yuors............
