Can someone post a close-up pic of how the emergency brake handle/cable is mounted through the hole in the firewall? can't remember what was there, the hole is 1/25" the handle assembly is 3/4" where it passes through, seems like there should be some kind of grommet or something. if so anyone know a source?

thanks in advance for your help

    Randy,
I don't have a way to take pics right now but will in a day or two... On my factory set-up, the handle assy is supported by a mount bolted to the lower lip of the dash. There is a grommet around the hole; but no apparent add'l support. The e-brake cable is retained in the end of the mechanism by a circlip, there is slight movement at the end but not alot. Not sure if that helps at all... will post pics when I get my camera back!

Chris, thanks, that's what I remember on mine. just thought there would be something to take the strain of pulling on the handle.

Unclebill, thanks for the pics, can you get one of the other side of the firewall?

    thank you

it confirms that the tuxedo park I have has the original hand brake cable but not the original heater box.It was riveted up and moved to the passenger side with some other heater box..
The other civilian cj-67 has a pedal handbrake assy (not original) but has the original heater box and controls..

does anyone still lsell the heater controls and cables?

    thank you

    mark.
