Is the a difference in the Dauntless 225 flywheels used in manual transmission Jeeps as compared to auto trans. Jeeps? I recently scored a :v6: out of a Commando that had an automatic, and was wondering if it will work with my stick shift or if I needed to source a new flywheel?

I tried a search, but didn't find the info I was looking for. My apologies if this topic has already been beaten to death. :dead horse:

    TIA!

A auto trans use a flex plate and a manual use a fly wheel
The flywheel is like 55# and a fles plate only has a ring gear on it,

No it will not work with your stick shift

The unit used with an automatic transmission is called a "flex plate" and has no provision for mounting a clutch. You need a "flywheel" which is much heavier and allows mounting for the clutch assembly. The two units are completely different. You might check the classifieds board as there is a flywheel for a 225 for sale on there.
