I have a chance to buy some new pistons for my V6 rebuild and they are 8.4 to 1 CR as compared to the original 9 to 1. What will I be giving up to go with these or will I be better off tracking down some original pistons. Thanks

    I don't think you'll lose anything
I did the same thing when I rebuilt mine back in '85
not enough difference to notice in my opinion

The power loss will be minimal, probably would never notice, and will run better on crappy gas without detonation issues from low octane fuel. My CJ-5 I purposefully left in lower compression pistons for this reason. The thing will run on most any kind of "gasoline" that burns....
