D27 Spindle Bolt Upgrade

    Just an update....

    Thanks to Mcruff I was able to install my knuckles on the '71. There was a problem though: the 2 studs in the 5 & 7 o'clock positions required some grinding of the head because the stud head bound against the axle housing during the sweep. Hopefully you can see the differences in the 2 pics of the 5 o'clock stud head modification. First pic is the head binding, the 2nd shows the head ground down to clear.

    Anyone else run into this problem during their upgrade/installation?

    I think Dr. Vern's site mentions that and the mods you do for the 9 & 3 o'clock positions.

    Yep - same issue, but solved differently -- I ground the ball end instead.
