Carb issue ???

    Jetting will not cause the engine to completely fall on its face ~3000 RPM, but fuel starvation sure will. I would take a good hard look at teh fuel system all the way from the tank to the carb, starting with a new fuel filter.

    Its been awhile since I tinkered with a 2G, I cant remember for sure but I thought some of them had a small sintered bronze or paper filter in the carb body / cover under the fitting at the fuel inlet..........Just throwing it out there,I cant remember for sure.

    I do know that if the mechanical advance is siezed up or sluggish an engine will gradually loose power, Just a thought........Is the mechanical advance actually working. Flyweights stuck? Reluctor siezed to dist shaft?

    Just some thoughts............Hope you find it soon.
