converting manual to auto what/where/how/who

    Why not throw a NV4500 at it. This trans was used behind everything from a 4.3 to 5.9 cummins, it won't break behind a 350. This would be strong and also give the OD and bolt up behind a 350.

    Won't fit in a '5 without a tremendous amount of modifications. Have one in the '6. Originally had the trans before the '6 and was gonna put it in the '5 behind my 231. The output shaft was gonna be about 4" from the rear pinion yoke. Won't say it can't be done, but the mods required you might as well build a Jeep body and frame from scratch.

    Edit: Went back and read his original thread and he doesn't say if it is a '5 or a '7. If a '7 then I wholeheartedly agree. Another option might be the 3550 which is cheaper and more easily obtainable used, although not as strong.

    1980 cj5 if you guy's missed it...sorry

    poncho is being replaced by the gm 350 reman i got...poncho might be getting sold...rebuilt 65psi on the oil,and is strong....

    iv'e requested the new venture availabilty and there isn't anything...scrap is up so j/y's are getting emptied out.

    i did find a T-19 with d 20 gm adapter for 300 bucks
    and a T-18 with d 20 gm adapter for 700

    ok transmission is out.....clutch was the culprit...now here is my question.

    what t-5/dana 300 had a 14 spine input shaft?

    flywheel is 153 tooth if that helps or matters
