dual stick dana 18

I have a dana 18 on my 1970 CJ5 behind a 225V6 and a T14a.
It has a single shift lever but dual secetor shafts.
is it possible to make it a dual stick shifter?

 

Yes. I converted mine several years ago. Was a very good mod for my jeep.

 

Yup. You can use the parts from a twin stick 18. Need the sticks, front output housing, shift rails, pivot pins, knobs, anti rattle clips, pivot pin retaining bolt, grease zerk for the pivot pin, and gasket and seal kit. Used to sell the kits but ran out of sticks. Herm the overdrive guy sells kits to do it, but if you can locate a core twin stick 18 that's complete it should have all the parts but the gasket and seal kit which is available from many vendors. The 18 must come apart so it's a good time to inspect/rebuild at the same time. Pay special attention to the intermediate shaft and thrust washers as they typically wear. Good time to upgrade to a Novak intermediate shaft. A little spendy but worth every penny as it's much harder than the other shafts available and lasts way longer...

The shifter sticks themselves will but the the rest will not work. I wish they were interchangeable. It'd make it much easier to make a 20 twin stick. The 18 front housing, while it will bolt up to the case, is not compatible with the 20 shaft and bearings. The shift rails also are not compatible, and there are other differences as well.
