    Hi!
Wife and I are rebuilding "Oscar", our '74 CJ6. The roll bar that is in it looks less than factory original. Did the '74 CJ6 come from the factory with a roll bar? The roll bar that is in "Oscar" looks to be two inverted "Y"s, attached to angle iron mounted on the rear wheel housings. Any advice would be appreciated!
    Thanks, Ed

Ed sounds like you have a CJ5 roll bar and no they were not factory in 74, dealer installed. The Cj6 got different type of roll bar that bolted to the floor in fornt of the rear fender well and then went back to the top of the rear fender well.

On a side note do you have brass govt plaque on your dash?? My 74 Cj6 was a Forest Service Jeep.

    Hi!
Thanks for the roll bar info! The size of the bar (under the hard top) does look like it was from a CJ5. No on the brass plaque. From the looks of the paperwork that came with "Oscar", looks like he came through life from a dealership in the mid-West!
    Again, Thanks!
