Nickmil, or anyone else that knows,...I have a scout D44 front end on my '67 CJ-5 and my steering (drag link and tie rod) look pretty weak. I live in Bend, but my sister literally lives a mile and a half from R&P and her boyfriend used to work there, so I may look into getting the beefed up drag link and tie rod from them for 60 bucks a piece or so. Anyway, if I do this I'd like to go to the 1 ton TRE's. I'm assuming my D44 is also still not big enough to accept the 1 ton tre's without further reaming, right? Think my knuckle's arms have enough meat on them for reaming and still be strong? What you have to do on the reaming to flip the drag link and tie rod to the top of the knuckles? U have to over-ream and then install a tapered bushing or something? Is this worth it? Sorry for a million questions and a slight thread hijack, but hopefully others can get something out of this too. Thanks.

    PM'd you.
The Scout 2 knuckles have a different taper to them than the Jeep and the GM 1 ton style so , yup, they'd need to be reamed. I'm pretty sure there is space between the tre's to do it, but not sure if there is enough meat on them. R&P could probably tell you for sure.....
