Hard to judge real condition by pic's.
    But if as advertised.
Thats a good starting price say's OBO.
    They sure make good projects.
The 101 wheel base is perfect and the ride is good.
Haveing something a little different is priceless.

Hey dont forget rc planes will fit in the back of a Commando!

Depends - do you want a Jeepster? :D

I'd have a hard time resisting it... the TH400 V6 Jeepsters are perfect for a Buick V8 swap. Does a '70 have Ross steering?

I'd say it's worth it, I payed $1000 for a non-running, topless and totally dysfunctional Jeepster Half Cab. The only thing it has going for it is the body and the frame. I'd jump all over that if I were you! If it is what they say it's definitely restorable too if that's the way you'd want to go with it.

    Crawled over this one today.

    The good:
    Complete
    All glass intact
Mostly original, mostly unmolested (except rear bumper)
    Dash uncut, original radio
Buick fires right up, idles good, no blow by
    Transmission seems to shift okay
    Brakes work

    The bad:
Rochester is in desperate need of rebuild (no biggie)
Someone glued indoor outdoor carpet to the entire interior. It's gone, but glue still everywhere
    Needs a set of tires
    Ross steering is really stiff
Seats are there, but are shot

    The ugly:
Floor pans were rotted, and for a replacement, someone got crazy with some 12ga plate
Rear bumper needs to be cut off and start over
Gas tank completely rotted away; fuel line currently run into a jug
Rockers look okay on outside, but when you crawl underneath they are gone
Wads of bondo everywhere, outside looks okay, but from behind there is a ton of filler

Notchet. Mulling this one over. I want one, just not sure if this is "the one." Wish I could find one with rockers and floor intact. I know, keep dreamin'. Blown engine but good TH400 to give me an excuse for a Buick 350 conversion would be cool, too. I bet this V6 would run sweet with a good carb. Trans shifts, brakes work, just lots more sheet metal work than I was hoping. I could make a ten footer out of it as she sits, but I know me, and I'm pretty sure it'd sit in the garage about three weeks before the body was coming off and frame heading over to get sand blasted.

Jeepster rockers are very vulnerable to rocks in stock form. If it were mine, in rocky MA, I would cut out the rockers and replace them with some rectangular tubing sliders. Rotted rockers aren't so much of a problem then...

Somebody will find the stock V6 a good home, if you chose to swap.

It's a jeepster, body work is just a way of life.

I'd go for it, seems the parts you do need (minus sheet metal) are still available (gas tank).

Of course I'm a late with this post so...........

Putting the floors in isnt that bad of a deal. BTDT. I second cutting out the rockers and using tubing to repalce it. Will be less hanging down for rocks to get a hold of.

This thread is funny as hell.

BECAUSE IT IS MINE AND THE ONE TRYING TO SELL IT.:D

Yea the carb needs boiled out and rebuilt. In my former life back in Michigan, there was a shop that did that. The carb would come back lookin like brand new.
But it does run pretty good, no lifter noise, etc. right jayhawkclint? How did you like my hurry-up choke cable?
Was I there (gotee) when you looked at it or my father-in-law?

If anyone wants more pics and more rundown I will be glad to email them directly.

Yep, Dauntless is in the "plus" column. Met with your father-in-law.

Still interested, don't really have time or a place to store it right now, just here for school and then shipping out in another 6 - 8 months or so. Undecided. I was hoping someone else would jump on it an take away the temptation. R) Going to have to PM you.
