From what I've seen most of the problems associated with Aussie or Lock-rites is because they were installed in a worn or damaged case or used the stock, weaker pinion shaft. That's why Powertrax manufactures a stronger pinion shaft and recommends a new case.....
In some cases we simply can't do that, like in the case of a 10 or 19 spline case, so we have to make sure the case is in real good shape to make them live. I agree, Powertrax warranty is excellent. I run Lock Rites front and rear in the '59 CJ-5 and have for a long time with no issues. I abuse my junk and they've held up great. Richard at R&P is on his second rear gear set with the same Lock-rite with a hot 400 SBC, WR T-19, 2.46-1 20 transfer case, 4.56 gears, and 33 swamper radials and he loves to spin them on the pavement. It's been in there for 15 years that I know of. I wouldn't hesitate to run an Aussie Locker either or a Detroit.
All that being said, I also have ARB's in the CJ-6. Nickmil

I had issues with my Warn hubs unlocking (by themselves) on the rear just before the Lock Right gave out, and I believe that had something to do with the locker letting go. Could have been wear in the case as well.
