One of the Kingpin cap bolt holes on my steering knuckle only has half the threads. Does anyone have any advice on putting a helicoil in? Is the cast iron of the knuckle too soft? Will I run into any other problems by doing this?

The key is making sure it's done correctly and that the hole is true enough to support the helicoil. In other words when drilled out the hole is round not oblonged and that the hole is straight so the bolt goes in at the right angle. The trunnion cap can be used as a guide if careful to keep it square. The helicoil will actually be stronger than the original threads if done correctly. Nickmil

don't forget to add permatex to the helicoil if it's on the bottom, or it will leak.
