Alright:beer: I have owned my 68 cj5 jeep since sunday and already have got in over my head. I went to purge the brakline with a one man purge kit from kragen and spent an hour f------around with the thing (mostly because the hose was to small so made up something out of misc. parts.) Then it did not seem like i was building up any pressure so i took the master cylinder out (it is mounted on the frame rail with the brake pedal that comes threw the floor and a clutch thats run off a chain but that will be another question) So the master cylinder is full of dirt and i proceed to take it a part and the piston did not seem to be operating very smothly the master cylinder says wagner and a code that starts with ff my local kragen was not able took look up the master cylinder by manufacture just make. This jeep suposadley had a frame off restoration about 8 years ago and i do not believe the master cylinder is the original and i believe the drums were swaped to 11 inches but have not spent much time looking real close but they do have the star adjuster tried those before bleeding the brakes. So needless to say the jeep i drove on sunday is now parked. At least i cleanded out a space in the garage. I am attaching some photos but can supply more if needed. thank for helping :beer::oops::beer:

That appears to be the stock master cylinder for a '67-'71 CJ with under the floor pedals. In '67 the Feds required all vehicles to be dual reservoir so that is how Jeep did it. In '72 up they were mounted to the firewall. I believe there may have been some with a bail holding the cap on mounted under the floor, but the ones I've seen looked just like yours. Border Parts as mentioned, Krage, all the usual sources should be able to get that for you. Nickmil

This sounds familar. I think it may have even been spelled "duel wheel" in the book at NAPA. I took it to be some kind of truck with dual rear wheels but eventually figured out that it was the correct one. The brand was Wagner. Yes, it was a couple hunert, but them's the brakes.

had the same thought when the guy asked me single our dual wheels at kragen i guess its hard to go back 40 years and have everything make sense. I figured since i cant drive it i should take a look at my wheel cylinders and hubs so back to the garage with a cold:beer:.
