Your angle pieces in the bed look like attachment points for a 1/2 cab, I think. Air cleaners are still around, clean yours up and reuse it. Donalsdson and Oakes were the early makers of those type. Connecting tube and air horn are avail repro if yours are MIA. Hubs are an accesory, I think the pic gallery has a batch of pics of the different styles.

Huh, I thought they were to hold a point of ply wood or something, anyway they look poorly done but painted the same hospital red as the bed. So they could be stock. Stay or go? There's may holes on the drivers side bed lip (the top, I thought they were snap holes for a canvas top, but they weren't on the passenger side...) so weld or leave? I'm afraid they breed cancer. Is there a way to dis-assemble the cleaner and re use it? I got the inside out but it's packed with dirt. The hose was cut on it running from cleaner to carb :( PO did it when he pulled the body off right before he sold it to me. Air horn? I got something hanging on the engine looking like a horn, was wondering original or repro? They're dual, I think you can see in one of the pics. I was looking through and didn't see the hubs =/
As again, I appreciate every response, pushes me one step closer to "done" lol
    Thanks!

Those angle iron pieces might have been homemade to attach a plywood panel across the front of the bed, as a barrier to keep loose cargo in the back end from coming up front. Stuff like rocks, gravel, dirt, etc.

    Just a guess.

I don't know if you know of it, but there is a website for 2A owners. Just like this site, there are VERY knowledgable guys there that know the ins and outs of the 2A.

    Link to the information page:
    http://www.thecj2apage.com/

    Link to the forum page:

There is a wealth of information on the 2A there, just like the wealth of info here.

I'm so angry right now after tinkering with the frame. I'll be cutting a lot off of it. The PO just kinda cut what he didn't think he'd use (wanted a Yoda engine in it, but it's all still stock) broken bolt form exhaust manifold to the block (SOB!) it's got some holes in the cross members, surface rust on the frame, just a mess of wires (I found that floor starter in it....lol) when he took the body off he kinda just cut the accelerator pedal off, and to get the clutch lever out of his way, he used a tie down to retract it to the front axle. Now it doesn't function, and all the linkage is stretched. Something leaked oil on me (I think it was the line from the oil bath to air cleaner) it's caked with dirt and oil.
The break booster is all broken.
I'm going to do body work first just to clear my mind...
    Uhhhhh I need to vent.

Oil bath and air cleaner are the same assembly. That's why it's called an oil bath air filter. There's no oil line that runs from the assembly. The only "line" is the air hose between the horn on top of the air cleaner and the horn on top of the carb.

Then what's the little hose with end on my driver side engine block dripping oil on me? ( I meant bath as cylinder bath)

That goes to the oil pressure gauge on he dash. Running the motor with a broken line can lose a lot of oil in a short time...

Looks like what my transfer case did all over my driveway... Not as bad but similar. So that went to a guage for oil pressure, alright. Looks like fun then =]

Here's something funny for ya'll! My "bondo" aka white stuff was, ready for this, not bondo, but rather drywall joint compound. so I'm chiselling it all out (debating getting quotes for blasting, blasting myself, or sanding myself...) and patch work was ok.
Now just because I'm a kid, and had to take it for a test drive, even if it was virtual... I thought this pic would be funny.

Wonder if the joint compound would power wash off?

I plan to try when I finish my patches, most likely Sunday. Maybe the direct blade?
Ok, so, I'm leaving the dents in it, gives it more of the old story it's got from it. But how about the millions of holes it's got in it? Weld them up? I'm afraid of rust spread. I already needed new floor pans and patches, and don't wanna go back in 10 years and redo it all. Oh, I got new hat channels in it too. And since I was a wise-donkey in the hat channel forum you all had to assume it happened to me.... 3 of them were made of old fence posts jammed into the rust. It was painful, I was cutting away with the plasma cutter and then all of a sudden, it blasts back at me, I had to switch to a cut off wheel =/

I got more metal into it, we're patching away. I'll make rocker guards instead :) of rhino liner. Uhm. My engine is an MB engine that's not running and a fare trade for a running in good shape L head from a CJ. I know this isn't a market place but is anyone down to trade for that? Help a kid drive his CJ sooner than 2 years...? :D
