I am putting a scout 44 in the rear of my 79 CJ-5.The question is what parts will work and what can I find for a donor? Next question,Will scout hubs and spindles work on waggie knuckles? If anyone has pics of a scout rear disc brake conversion I would love to see them. Thanks in advance!

    brake

I have a scout2 rear in my 77. Not sure what year it came from. I made the mount for the brake, used a CJ front caliper. The rotors are 4 door zook.

What size steel did you use for the bracket? do you have any dimensions?

I used 3/8 boiler plate that I had laying around. Darn hard stuff to work with. Way over kill I think? Sorry, no dimensions. I made a cardboard template first, then traced it on the steel. Cut it with a torch. Plasma cutter is on my wish-list-O-tools. They do however work very well. I am still running the stock master cylinder with plans to upgrade to a vette cylinder on of these days. It works so well as is that I haven't really made any effort to swap it out.

forgot to add, I used air pressure to lock the caliper to the rotor to hold it in place to make the mount template.

I do not think the scount spidnkles will bolt to the waggie. if i rmemeber scount 44s had more studs inthe knuckle. You will need to use ford stuff to covnert to 5 lug

You are correct Dan the scout 44 knuckles have 8 bolts, the waggie only has 6.I am going to the junk yard wed. to see if I can find a good donor, never thought I would say that about a FordR)

You can re drill the knuckle using the spindle as a template or redrill the spindle using a 6 bolt spindle as a template. I've done it both ways and works fine. In fact I have Scout 2 front spindles and caliper mounts on the '6 with wagoneer knuckles and I redrilled the knuckles. Works great. Done it for lots of other folks too with no issues. Just gotta make sure the caliper mount is "clocked" correctly before drilling. Nickmil
