63 willys cj5 brakes

    my jeeps previous owner says it has 17 inch drum brakes all around,how do i measure to see what size?

    not 17s, probably 9 or 10". take off a drum and measure the diameter of the inside surface

    If you had 17" drums you would have to run at least 18" wheels, I would think. they may be 11" upgraded brakes.

    No such animal (at least for a CJ) as 17" brakes. Your tub is obviously from a newer (intermediate) CJ. ie side marker lights/recesses, no under seat tank filler hole. Looks nice though.
