So I am in the process of converting my CJ2A using the Chev parts, has anyone make the hose mount to the frame rather then the junction on the axle?

    Thanks

Not a problem. IIRC some of the CJ-5's and later had bulkhead fittings on the frame up near the shocks, with a hose that ran down to the wheel cylinder. Can't see why you couldn't do the same.

Just make sure you allow for enough slack in the hoses for your suspension and steering.

Right now it's sitting with no shocks and the jackstands are on the frame so the springs are at full droop. I did notice that the hose from the frame to the axle is too short like that, so I guess the shocks limit travel. So I wanted to mount the hoses to the frame instead as the old cracked axle to frame hose was probably due for a change.

I guess I'll weld the tabs to the frame and buy a new bulkhead fitting. that I can attach to the frame somewhere

I did this when I upgraded to the D30. Here is what I did. I cut the brackets off from the D25 axle. The ones that hold the flexible brake lines. I welded these to the frame right above the axle. (I'm not sure if you can use the old flex lines. Mine where long enough.) Then I ran a new line acrossed the front crossmember through each frame rail. I should have took pictures.

You may want to get longer shocks. They shouldn't be the limiting factor for your suspension.

I would assume they are stock ones that I took off. What the extended length of a stock CJ2A shock?

So I am a bit puzzled where I can find a T fitting for the brakes. I now have the hoses that attach to the frame. I couldn't find anything at the local parts store.

and I just notice that the herm kit uses 1/2 fittings! damn they are huge.

    Thanks!

I went to an actualy Auto Parts store (like NAPA or AutoZone) and the had the T fitting, I think I got the right one for the brake switch also as the MC I got from Herm doesn't have a port for the brake switch.

They didn't seem to have any adapters for the elbows for the MC, I think they are 5/16 or something, nothing to mate to 3/16 tube, so I'll have to figure out something there.
