I got my first Cj-5 this past october (2006). The title says it was a 1974 but jeepdaddy2000 brought up a good point and said it might be a mis titled jeep. Well he was right. The fenders and the 81 inch wheelbase gave it away The engine is a 225 :v6: with an HEI. I think the transmission is a t90 but I have to clean it off some more. The t-case is a D18 but with a single stick which I guess was mated to the oddfire. The rear axle is a flanged D44 and the front is a D30 with disk brake conversion. There are no power brakes or steering of course. But that is half the fun. My plans are to do some work to it and just drive it. I had a 2000 TJ but I traded it for my truck. Her is a pic of the jeep I hope it works. well it didn't work my file was too big. will resize and try again.

thats a 72-75 tub (can tell by the "Jeep" on the side - pre 72 said "JEEP") put on a frame and drivetrain that is a 70-71. the front dana 30 is likely from a 72-75 also, but may be even later. a 70-71 would have a dana 27 front axle from the factory.

front fenders do not appear to have marker light indents, which would make them early 70 on back

Well I haven't done much since my last post. I have been busy at work but I have been tinkering every free second I have. I am changing my fuel pump this weekend. no fuel making it to the carb. but when it does it isn't much. After I warm up the JEEP I drive it around but then it just dies and there is no fuel in the filter. My question is what is the third nipple for? My current fuel pump only has two nipples, an intake and out to the carb. the new one looks the same but it has a third smaller one. Any help would be appreciated. Oh bye the way I do know the trick with the putting the grease in the fuel pump hole to keep the push rod out of the way. Thanks anyone. :)

Well today I changed the fuel pump in around 20-30 min. It was easier than the instructions made it out to be....but who reads instructions?:) I started up my jeep very breifly and stopped it to check for leaks. Well the so called return line was leaking out fuel. I investigated the fuel tank and as far as i can see I do not have anywhere to plug the return line into. right now I have a short section of fuel line and a bolt hose clamped so I will not leak anymore fuel out. is this ok to run if I do not have any return ports? The only place i could think of is a line by the filler hose which looks to be a vent or overflow line. A tee could be installed in it I guess. Thank you for any help.
