Txjake, I don't think I will be reselling it , but let me take a look at it when i get it and we will see. If nothing else, maybe we can get some lunch or something if you come this direction. I will be sure to keep you informed though.

Okay, here she is... The PO made sure that I called her "Wild Comanche" (thats what is on the homemade tailgate).

I realized as soon as I saw it that it was in 10 times worse shape then i was led to believe, but I still bought it for $200. I have decided NOT to keep this 1960 JEEP, because it has nothing of any value really except for the entire drivetrain, and I already have a good one on the '70. I guess I am going to part it out or sell it whole. I want to get my money back out of it and at the same time, provide some parts for you jeepers out there. The VIN is missing, but it reads- 5754889517 on the title that I have. The engine is supposed to run, and from the looks of it, i believe it might. What do ya'll think? Anyone want it? If not, I am going to trash the body and begin putting the driveline in the classifieds.

Tell me if the pics took to long to load so that I will know to make them smaller in the future

    Jason,

You live too far away for me but don't trash the grill, lights, engine, hood, or the rims. The fenders and body look a bit rough so they may have to go. Also Don't trash the accelerator linkage to the engine if it looks saveable.

    Jason,

I still think the Jeep could be saved. Thunderpig wasn't in any better shape when I got her. Took a lot of time and money from someone interested in a hobby and not necessarily worried about the economics of the whole thing. New fenders, a new windsheild frame, a bit of welding some sheet metal in places and the body would be ok. I don't think you can find em with "Jeep" stamped on the side anymore. I'd recommend you sell it to someone who wants to do a frame off resto. You should be able to double your money I would think.

I won't trash anything of importance for sure. Tomorrow I am going to try to start the engine, with some luck it might just fire up. I have been doing research tonight on the "older" CJ5s since I have not messed with them any. I am not quite sure what to do with it at this point. I really have my hands full with the R1, and With college just months away, I don't have the money to really work on this one for at least a couple of years. I would love to have another CJ, but this one isnt really in the condition I would like to begin with. Photos don't really show everything. It is pretty rough. I would have to be pretty skilled with sheet metal and welding to turn this one around. I would also need to aquire a lot of parts to replace what is missing, (ex: tailgate, tail lights, underseat storage, gas tank, switches, steering wheel, seats and seat brakets, body mounts, windshield frame, and virtually the entire body past the front fenders.)

I would think willystech parts board and here would be a good place to turn it. You could part her out and maybe make out pretty well, but lots of folks have started with similar conditioned CJs and done pretty well. I will be down in LA in a few weeks, if you still have it, I could take a look at it.

Not to mentioned what it cost to have a basket ball goal installed on top of all the other stuff. you should see what it would be worth down here.I wouldn't trash the whole body, as was said, the hood hinges and windshild frame will get you your money back along with countless parts. just sell parts for a while .............Tucson
