I wouldn't sand them, I'd just paint them. That way, if/when you decide you don't really like the paint after all, you'll still have good chrome underneath.

I've always heard & believed that but a few years ago when we got Putt we painted the logos on the hub caps with some leftover body paint. It was 2 part poly & it will indeed stick to chrome, Very Well, it just *will*not* come off.

    Ever.

Even if you want it too :(.

On the race Jeep I just scuffed them lightly and painted them. worked good. Like your avatar. Happen to know the guy who owns that Jeep. Built the front axle in it. Owned by Tom Telford, now retired engineer for Warn Industries. Nickmil

I am just not a very big fan of chrome. To flashy. I have a harley without an inch of chrome on it if that tells you anything. But mainly my rings have dips them and need a face lift. All the Flatties ive seen that paint theirs look really good so thats what I am gona go with. Thanks for all the help.

Yea I actually scanned the picture out of fourwheelparts and put it on photoshop. Its a very nice 3b.

If interested , I have an extra set of I believe CJ2A headlight rings, the chrome isnt perfect , But perfect for Painting ... I could take some pics to be sure if they are what you need , They look identical to the ones in your 3B "Mystery Jeep/Willys" post .... yours for $10 plus shipping .... ( I used the mounts and headlight hold down rings for my GPW, didnt like the look of the big chrome outer ring , so I just have them sittin around ...) ...

    PM me ...

Ill get new pics of my GPW ...Its Black on black on black ..... ( some pics on my nissan site ..)
