    After 33 years of beating my 3B in the boonies, the only down side of glass is a the stars you get in the front fender paint from the tires throwing rocks against them. They will take a very good wump without breaking, certainly more than would leave a lasting impression in steel or aluminum. If your looking for an absolutely stock appearence, steel is really the only option. I also like aluminum (built my hood from it) but would be reluctant to use it for the body. If you live in a salty environment or where they use it on the roads, aluminum can have just as many corrosion problems as steel.
