i know that the caliper mounts/backing plate from a 1/2 ton chevy pickup will work for the disk conversion on a dana 27a front (69 cj5).

how about the same parts from a 78 scottsdale 20 chevy w/ 4wd? it's a 3/4 ton. the mounts seem to look the same when i compare the picts from the 1/2ton to the 3/4 ton parts in the local yard.

3/4 ton has 6 mounting holes as well but if i remember correctly the axle would be a dana 60 instead of a 44?

i can pick up a pair for $10 each at my local u pull.

I think the big thing would be the diameter of the rotor. The 8-lug stuf looks to be a lot beffier than the 1/2-ton stuff. With a 16- or 16.5-inch rim, they could have slid a bigger rotor in there for better cooling and such...

For $10 each, I think I'd grab them. You could always re-sell them if they don't work...

The 3/4 ton's move the caliper away from the spindle further to allow for the larger diameter rotor. The "can" be used but you won't get full pad contact on the rotor unless using 3/4 ton rotors. The 3/4 ton Chev will have either a 44 or Corporate 10 bolt. In that year it should be a 10 bolt. The 60's were used in 1 ton and above. Nickmil

ok so. any chevy or gmc 4x4 k series (k=4x4 i think..) mid 70's to early 80's with 10 number for chevy=1/2 ton or a 15 or 1500 number for gmc = 1/2 ton?

if i'm gonna scrounge i might as well scrounge for something i can use more easily. if i can find any left.
