I have a T98 and was wondering what it would take to bolt it up behind a V6. Anyone with some experience with this. Was this ever a factory option?

    Check with Novak. www.novak-adapt.com

They're great to work with and they have adapters for T-18's to GM (B-O-P) bellhousings. Years ago My son and I put a T-18 behind his Dauntless in a '71 CJ5

No, very few V6s came with the T-18 and none with the T-98.

JMO - you're swimming upstream to take the sought-after T-98 for the F134 and convert it to a V6. Very little or no aftermarket support for the T-98 these days. Instead I'd sell the T-98 setup and swap in one of the Muncie 4-speeds or the T-18 with the V6. Either that or sell this Jeep and buy one with a V6, then swap in the 4-speed.

Alot of us Hurrican Jeepers will kill for T-98s that are ready to bolt up. Sell it and pick you up a good T18 or muncie.

I just had my T98 & D18 twin stick rebuilt, it was much less expensive than I thought, no problems finding parts etc.. It will be going behind my 225. Ill take some drivetrain shots when I get it all installed with the body off.

Call Novak, even thoguh the Fhead T98 is kind of the holy grail of trannies, if it is in good shape, use it, you can kep the input shaft and front adapter and sell it for those who want to mate the t98 to an Fhead, you do not use those parts. But check with Novak they sell the replacement input shafts for the T18 which i think they may also work for the t98 to go in the jeep.

I think I have a input shaft and front adapter to adapt a T98 in my pile of stuff. Would it be wise to hang on to it?

Very wise, they are not made anymore. The adapter can be made, if somebody needed one but the measurements have to be noted, the input shaft is the hard part to get. I gave my old input shaft to Nikmil in hopes he will recreate them so that others can enjoy the 4 speed in front of the L/F heads. Unfortunately it is an old tech thing, so it is not a swap that the adpater people are really persuing, but if we could get a place to make the input shaft it would be great bonus for the early crowd.

True on the input shaft, but Novak will make you an adapter plate quite reasonably.

We haven't forgotten! Just takes money which has been tight for a while. We have to have some other shafts made soon so am going to try and talk the boss into making a few of these for the trial run. Nickmil
