    Ok, I tried grounding the temp sender wire but nothing happend. The needle does move a little. The new senser I put in is about as big around as a pencil. Krage sold it to me and said it was the one I needed. I am thinking my gauge is bad. Do I need to replace the fuel gauge and temp gauge or can I replace both. The gauges run about 25 bucks and if I have to do both I am thinking maybe I should replace the whole thing. I hate to do that but I cant think of anythig else. Everything else is new. I get a pulsing light at the senser and the gauge but no reading on the needle.

    with the ignition on, check to see that you have 12 volts at the I terminal of the fuel gauge. (the one without the sender wire or the metal strap). if you get 12 v;

    test from the metal strap to ground, you should read roughly 5 volts. if not the regulator in the fuel gauge is bad. if so:

    with power to the fuel gauge, ground the S (sender) terminal of the temp gauge. if it pegs it is still good, if not then it is shot.

    post what ever you get and we can go from there.

    good luck
